By Air
Royal Brunei Airlines has direct flights
from Bandar Seri Begawan to many destinations around the world. Amongst
them are regional capital cities such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila,
Taipei and Hong Kong. They also connect to major centers in Borneo such
as Kuching, Gunung Mulu National Park and Kota Kinabalu. The country's
airline also fly to Darwin, Perth and Brisbane in Australia; Bali and
Jakarta in Indonesia; and further afield to Abu Dhabi, London and Frankfurt.
Other airlines covering the routes to their home countries include Malaysia
Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways International. As Royal
Brunei is a Muslim airline, it therefore does not serve alcohol on its
flights.
Land
By land, you can easily travel overland
between Limbang and Lawas in Sarawak and Bangar in east Brunei. The main
overland route by bus is from Miri in Sarawak. However, the usual method
to Bandar Seri Begawan seems to by boat. Overland traveling between Lawas
and Bangar is expensive.
Sea
There are boats connecting Brunei to Lawas
and Limbang in Sarawak, and another to Pulau Labuan. Except for boats
to Limbang, the rest of the international boats leave from Muara, which
is located 25 kilometers northeast of Bandar Seri Begawan. There, all
Brunei immigration is handled.
