Kota (Fort) Lukut

7km from PD, Lukut was an important mining town in the last century. Herein
lies a well preserved fort, Kota Lukut. Painstakingly built between 1826
and 1827, it is considered one of the best designed and engineered forts
by the Bugis.
Fort Kempas

fort Kempas, about 23km from PD, lies the grave of a leading historical
personality - Keramat Ujong Pasir, Ulama Sheikh Ahmad Mahktum. Beside
his grave is the famous stone inscriptions or "batu bersurat", which depict
his struggle and history. Here too lies another 15th Century lighthouse
although smaller than that in Cape Rachado.
