Desaru Holiday Chalet was the first stopover during my visit to Desaru. This resort starts its operation in 1974 and was the first resort to be opened in Desaru. It was officiated by the third Prime Minister of Malaysia. Even though the resort is 'old' the chalets here were well maintained and still in working condition. It is suitable for family retreat as the chalets are quite spacious. You can park your car next to your chalet and wash your car if you want to. Since most of the trees planted here has grown big, you can expect a shady cool atmosphere.

Easily accessible from Singapore and the northern areas by road via Kota Tinggi and by ferry services from Changi Point, Singapore. It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes drive from Johor Bahru to Desaru. I was lucky as the weather was perfect.
The view was great especially when you are about to enter Desaru. The landscape was well maintained and surrounded by lush greenery of tropical forest. You can see a couple of pictures taken.

Public transport are available from Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi and Tanjung Belungkor to Desaru.

For those guests that prefer to travel by Ferry from Singapore. Operates four sailing a day between Changi Ferry Terminal and Tanjong Belungkor Ferry Terminal. The ferry has capacity for 400 passengers and 70 cars in its car deck.
