Among the most pristine and untouched region of Tinggi Island is Pasir Panjang (Long Beach), which is nestled, in a long stretch of golden sands. According to legend, Hang Tuah (a legendary Malay hero) stopped at this before he continued on his journey. The island got its name from a Malay word "Tinggi" which means tall. 

The island has fresh water, fruits, rattan, timber and a well sheltered harbor. Journey by boat to Tinggi Island takes approximately 40 minutes. Crystal clear water and the 'green' island makes you forget the stress of working life as you enjoy the beautiful view. Don't miss the sunset view from Tinggi Island. An island nearby, 'Berlima' is a very suitable place for swimming and snorkeling. 'Berlima' simply means five, which represent five small island. Another snorkeling destination is Sibu Kukus and Mentinggi Island.

Tinggi Island is one of the fishing paradises. Other activity in Tinggi Island includes jungle tracking where you can see the virgin jungle. It is a suitable place for those who plan to go for their honeymoon. Free from noise and pollution. Simply put ... peace, relax and cool.

Driving from Singapore/Johor Bahru.

You need to drive to Johor Bahru and drive ahead until Kota Tinggi (approx. 1 hr) Tanjung Leman's jetty is located at Kota Tinggi town (about 45 minutes from Kota Tinggi). You may park your car at a secured parking space at Tanjung Leman at RM5/night.

If you go by air, you need to go to Senai's Airport at Johor Bahru. From the airport you need to get a public transportation to Sibu Island.
