Cheongju is about 2 and a half hours coach ride from Incheon International Airport.

It has a population of close to 650,000 people and although becoming Americanised (there is a Converse shop and McDonalds in the city centre) it has not got many tourists and non Korean pedestrians do attract attention although only positive as children greet you with shouts of hello!
